About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Specialist to join our team at Manulife Insurance Malaysia. As an Actuarial Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our business by providing expert actuarial advice and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actuarial Analysis and Advice
    • Conduct thorough actuarial analysis and provide expert advice to senior management on business growth strategies and risk management.
    • Develop and maintain actuarial models and tools to support business decision-making.
  • Business Development and Growth
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth.
    • Provide actuarial support to business development initiatives, including market research and competitor analysis.
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks to the business.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor junior actuarial staff to develop their skills and expertise.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team is equipped to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • University degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
    • Professional actuarial designations (e.g. FIA, FSA, etc.).
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in actuarial roles, preferably in the insurance industry.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
    • Excellent business acumen and understanding of the insurance industry.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop junior staff.
