About the Role

Your Responsibilities


• Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities for all equipment on site to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

• Collaborate with contractors and external vendors to repair and install machinery and equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, maintaining accurate records and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

• Manage inventory of spare parts, ensuring timely procurement and storage to minimize delays and costs.

• Identify and address any nonconformities or quality issues related to products, processes, or systems, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Record and document any problems or issues related to products, processes, or systems, and initiate solutions through designated channels.

• Verify the implementation of solutions and ensure their effectiveness in resolving issues.

• Control the processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

• Respond to employee concerns and inquiries, providing guidance and support to resolve issues and improve communication.

• Prepare and maintain reports, records, and other documentation as required, communicating relevant information to stakeholders.

• Provide guidance and training to apprentices and sign-off apprenticeship training standards as assigned, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.

• Ensure compliance with applicable QEMS policies, procedures, and work instructions, and train employees on relevant policies and procedures.

• Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support the team and achieve business objectives.

Requirements


• Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Electrician or Millwright, or equivalent trade experience.

• Familiarity with machining centers, presses, and industrial equipment, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and processes.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Good organizational skills and scheduling abilities, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Orientation, WHMIS, Safety Procedures/Controlled Entry, Forklift Training, Crane Training, First Aid, Emergency Procedures for Power Presses, Fire Extinguisher Training, Health and Safety Competency Training, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 training as prescribed by QEMS (see matrixes), TDG Specific, Spill Training, Propane & Compressed Gases, Contractor Safety, 3R/Waste Management, equipment/machinery specific training as required, Confined Space, Lockout, Fair & Effective Discipline, Communication Skills, Harassment & Discrimination, Managing the Employee Charter, Performance Management, Cosma Culture, Fairness Committee Training, Massiv Leader Orientation, 5S, CI Suggestion Program, EAP Support Awareness.
