Director, Research Planning

Calian Group Ltd. is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Research and Development team in Regina, SK. As Director, Research Planning, you will be responsible for driving advancements in the field of agriculture through innovative research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall research and development strategy for the company.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in agricultural science and technology.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for R&D projects.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in leading research and development projects.
  • Strong leadership skills, technical and business knowledge.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Ability to translate product requirements into technical requirements.
  • Experience with annual performance planning, goal setting, and year-end reviews.
  • Experience with professional development strategy and implementation.
  • Experience with user experience best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tools like the software development cycle, Google Cloud Platform, SQL, Jira, project management, HubSpot, C/C++, etc.
  • Experience in data science and/or business intelligence, especially experience with data warehousing.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
