Salary

We offer an estimated annual salary of $80,000 CAD for this position, based on industry standards and location.

Job Description

As a Crane Operator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating crane equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company policies;
  • Completing lift plans and determining safe lifting capacities;
  • Performing daily pre- and post-inspections, as well as FLRA checks;
  • Setting up, inspecting, and operating man baskets;
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work site, disposing of waste and excess materials properly.

You will also be responsible for participating in tailgate and operations meetings, providing recommendations for improving environmental performance, and assisting other crew members as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience operating heavy equipment;
  • Knowledge of Telescopic Crawler cranes and relevant work experience in micro-tunneling and shaft sinking;
  • Hold necessary safety tickets, including WHIMIS, First Aid, CSTS or PCST, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and Fall Arrest/Fall Protection.

A Journeyman Crane Operator certification is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires prolonged standing, walking, and/or sitting, as well as manual dexterity and ability to handle objects, tools, and controls. You will be required to climb stairs and/or ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or walk on uneven ground. Ability to hear equipment alarms, voices, radio transmissions, and other noises consistent with construction sites is essential. You will work in all weather conditions, inside and outside, and may be required to work day and night shifts, including holidays.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be:

  • Educated and certified as a Journeyman Crane Operator;
  • Eligible to work in Canada;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken);
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical examination;
  • Willing to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol clearance.
