Powerline Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Powerline Technician to join our team at The MEARIE Group. As a Powerline Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical distribution system.

• Electrical Distribution Operations: You will be responsible for operating electrical distribution equipment under normal and adverse conditions, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of power to our customers.
• Confined Space Work: You will work with confidence in situations of high elevation and in confined spaces, using specialized equipment and techniques to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: You will be required to lift and handle various heavy tools and equipment in difficult body positions, and perform bucket rescue operations as needed.
• Mechanical Aptitude: You will demonstrate a solid understanding of basic electric circuit theory and mechanical aptitude, ensuring that you can troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment as needed.
• Safety Record: You will be expected to maintain a good safety record and be committed to working diligently towards a safer workplace, adhering to all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act rules and regulations.
• Teamwork and Communication: You will work as a team member and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Customer Service: You will demonstrate an exceptional level of customer service and professionalism at all times, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service.
• Standby Duties: You will be required to perform regular standby duties and be available to respond to emergency situations after work hours, ensuring that our customers receive uninterrupted service.

• Certification: You will hold a valid Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification or equivalent, ensuring that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of the job.
• Driver's License: You will possess and maintain a valid 'A' or 'D' Ontario Driver's License with a class 'Z' endorsement in good standing, ensuring that you can safely operate company vehicles.
• CPR Certification: You will hold valid CPR certification, ensuring that you can respond to emergency situations and provide first aid as needed.
• On-Call Responsibilities: You will be required to fulfill 'on-call' responsibilities, ensuring that you are available to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours.
• Residency: You will be required to live within 20 minutes from our office, ensuring that you can quickly respond to emergency situations and attend meetings and training sessions as needed.
