Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Renown Electric Motors & Repair Inc. as a Motor Repair and Maintenance expert.

Responsibilities
  • Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment, utilizing advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts, maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components, ensuring precise fitment and smooth operation.
  • Weld or braze components, applying expertise in various joining techniques and materials.
  • Instruct apprentices, sharing knowledge and experience to develop the next generation of electrical systems specialists.
  • Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils, requiring attention to detail and precision.
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing vibrations.
  • Perform on-site servicing and repair, providing prompt and efficient solutions to meet customer needs.
Requirements
  • Possess 2 years of experience in this field, with a strong foundation in electrical systems and motor repair.
  • Hold a valid Canadian work permit, allowing for seamless integration into our team.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and customers.
  • Work well in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
