Job Summary

The Perfusionist plays a critical role in the multi-disciplinary surgical team at Hamilton Health Sciences, working collaboratively to provide best patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the heart-lung machine and electronic monitoring equipment associated with open heart and cardiovascular surgery.
  • Support the Provincial ECMO program, consisting of both VA and VV support.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of present or acquired equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare and package supplies pertaining to heart lung machine and monitoring equipment.

Requirements

  • Certified with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion and/or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and working within a multi-discipline team environment.

Work Schedule

Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Standby/Call-Back required.
