About the Role
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Fraser Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced sonographer to join our team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography, with expertise in performing abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and echocardiography ultrasound examinations. You will be responsible for preparing patients for testing, conducting exams utilizing ultrasound and Doppler techniques, and entering relevant data into our diagnostic imaging information system.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Participating in procedural rooms by setting up biopsy trays, assisting radiologists/cardiologists with interventional procedures, labelling/requisitions, and providing support and comfort to patients during procedures.
- Monitoring patients during procedures by observing and responding to possible contrast media reactions or other emergency situations in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Checking resultant images for technical quality and completeness, preparing technical worksheets, and discussing images with radiologists/cardiologists to ensure examinations address designated requirements.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess a graduate degree from a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography. Certification with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is also required. Additionally, completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course or applicable experience working in IV Therapy is preferred.
