We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at GIGIS SPICE CORNER.
About the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring that dishes meet the highest standards of quality and consistency. They will also supervise a team of cooks and helpers, training them in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods;
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances;
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef;
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas;
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food;
- Order supplies and equipment;
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers;
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment;
- Clean kitchen and work areas;
- Recruit and hire staff;
- Manage kitchen operations.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in a similar position;
- Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines, including South Indian and vegetarian options;
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of cooks and helpers;
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of quality and consistency;
- Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to changing circumstances.
