Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to fill the role of LPN Supervisor at Northern Health Authority. This position is responsible for coordinating Short Term Home Support and Home Support Scheduling by supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and home support schedulers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership and be able to provide effective and efficient delivery of hospital services.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate Short Term Home Support and Home Support Scheduling
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and home support schedulers
• Oversee the implementation of client care plans
• Provide training and evaluation of personal care techniques
• Provide advocacy services
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to perform assessments, plan, implement and provide personal and nursing care to clients in a community health setting
• Provide nursing procedures within the LPN Standards of Practice as outlined by BC College of Nurses and Midwives
• Provide input into the development and evaluation of program(s) policies and standards and developing and implementing new work methods and processes

Requirements
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year of recent, related acute care or residential experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current, full practicing licensure with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Current valid BC Driver's License

• Assessment and Intervention – Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/ prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions
• Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilize computer technology
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
