Global Medical Operations Lead

Astellas Pharma Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Medical Affairs Strategic Leader to join their team in Canada.
Job SummaryThis key role will be responsible for driving annual and long-term medical planning, and execution of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables. The successful candidate will establish an operational framework to ensure adequate oversight of MA activities, including tactical planning, Grants, and Investigator Sponsored Research.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management, planning, prioritization, and organization skills, with excellent interpersonal skills, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the operational plan for the execution of the affiliate annual plan to facilitate that deliverables and objectives are met, according to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Create a local framework for decision making and infrastructure to monitor execution status, setting up processes for monitoring progress and organizing implementation locally.
- Operate within the MA Governance structure to provide subject matter expertise and advice to affiliate MA teams on Governance and Processes relating to execution of MA activities.
- Collaborate with medical teams to develop risk mitigation plans and establish corrective measures.
- Provide timely project updates and contribute to the execution and delivery of special projects or initiatives as required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a science/medical based function, with a minimum 3 years' MA experience.
- Strong knowledge of governance processes and quality standards, local laws, and guidelines.
- Prior budget management experience and matrix navigation expertise.
- Fluency in English and proficient in written and spoken business English.
A competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
