Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Supervisor to lead our logistics team at Countryside Farms in Steinbach, Manitoba. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest product quality for our customers while maintaining efficient logistics operations.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an ideal fit for this role if you have:

  • A post-secondary education in Logistics (an asset)
  • At least 5 years of experience in a logistics environment
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • A Class 1 Licence (an asset)
  • Forklift and warehousing experience is required
  • Physical ability to handle warehouse operations
  • Strong organizational skills with a methodical approach
  • Eager to learn and grow within the role
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Proven experience in training, mentoring, and developing team members

Your Responsibilities

As a Logistics Supervisor, you will lead and manage the logistics team, including truck drivers and shipping staff. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring adherence to all food safety standards, practices, and regulations
  • Coordinating daily tasks to maximize efficiency
  • Planning and overseeing pickups and deliveries
  • Ensuring scheduled maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget
  • Mentoring and developing team members
  • Verifying daily inspections by drivers and operators
  • Overseeing order picking and shipping processes
  • Participating in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring all equipment is clean and operated according to internal and regulatory safety standards
  • Collaborating on the implementation of new health and safety systems
  • Participating in physical inventory counts as necessary
  • Providing input on capital expenditure projects
  • Tracking and managing maintenance, repair costs, and fuel expenditures
  • Scheduling third-party freight carriers to optimize cost-effectiveness
  • Ensuring logistics costs remain within budget targets

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
