Job Summary

The Executive Chef is a key member of the Great Canadian Entertainment team, responsible for leading the culinary department and ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This leadership role requires a strong background in culinary management, hospitality, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement culinary strategies to maintain brand standards and achieve departmental goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of culinary professionals to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Regional VP to achieve departmental and property goals.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to enhance quality and measure performance.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for kitchen staff.
  • Evaluate products to ensure quality, price, and related goods meet expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety throughout all kitchen areas.
  • Chair and attend food and beverage staff and management meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  • Post-secondary education in culinary management or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Red Seal certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and mentor the team.
  • Hotel and/or multi-outlet experience preferred.
  • Experience developing new concepts.
  • Premium banquet experience.
  • Operating multi-concept culinary operations.
  • Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safe Certification.
  • Knowledge of Optimum Control an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Ability to provide leadership in a team environment and motivate, develop, and share in the successes of the team.
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity.
  • Handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and work under pressure and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal service skills, organization skills to plan time effectively, and work without direct supervision.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to lead a team by motivating, developing, and celebrating the successes of the team.
  • Serving It Right Certification or the ability to achieve a Serving It Right Certification.
  • Able to successfully pass a criminal record check.
  • Able to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
  • A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests.
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and achieve new skills for personal and professional development.
