The University of Niagara Falls Canada invites applications for an International Student Advisor position in the Student Experience department. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to provide support and guidance to international students at the University of Niagara Falls Canada. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Student Experience team to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-arrival and settlement support to international students, including guidance on travel logistics, health and well-being, and cultural adjustment.
  • Advise students on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) guidelines, including entry to Canada, study permits, taxation for foreign nationals, and work permits.
  • Assist students in understanding financial obligations, budgeting, and accessing financial resources.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop an integrated approach to support at-risk students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A minimum two-year diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as an Immigration Professional (Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or Registered International Student Advisor (RISIA).
  • At least three years' experience in student services, preferably at the post-secondary level, including experience in areas related to student support and promoting student success.
