At Pomerleau, we're seeking a skilled Materials Quality Control Specialist to join our team in the Alternative Projects Center of Expertise.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will play a crucial role in ensuring the traceability of materials incorporated into our projects and planning on-site laboratory tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate on-site and factory laboratory tests, adhering to established standards and frequencies specified in contracts.
  • Maintain calibration and verification records for measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Implement and monitor material quality control procedures, guaranteeing conformity of results and identifying any non-conformities or deviations from technical specifications.
  • Submit laboratory deliverables (test reports, analyses, statistics) to customer representatives in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the quality of materials supplied by subcontractors, collaborating with technical and construction teams to achieve excellence.
  • Maintain up-to-date registers of materials delivered, including proofs and supporting documents.
  • Record the results of tests and inspections carried out on materials, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction and materials quality control on large-scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • In-depth knowledge of material testing standards, including concrete, steel, aggregates, and more.
  • Excellent work organization skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards shared goals.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
