About the Role:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a skilled Gas Plant Operator to join their team. As a Gas Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the gas plant, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of natural gas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Start up, operate, and shut down unit operations within the gas plant.
  • Review and understand Pembina's safety and operational procedures and standards.
  • Ensure all safety documentation is completed for personnel working in the facilities.
  • Document facility operations in logbook reporting, daily production reports, and reliability reporting.
  • Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Lift and move barrels from a truck onto a barrel dock and in and out of buildings.
  • Create notifications through the SAP PMM system and plan for equipment maintenance.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and hazards as required.
  • Work with Pembina management, engineering firms, and equipment vendors to develop procedures for safe and reliable plant operation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process upsets and take proportional action to resolve issues.
  • Call out maintenance for equipment repairs and ensure priority levels are communicated.
  • Look for cost savings opportunities and relay them to the team during operations meetings.
  • Support Pembina's safety culture of 'Zero by Choice' and the 'Life Saving Rules'.

    Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to those who have completed 5th Class Power Engineering or Fired Process Heater competency.
  • 5+ years of gas processing experience is required.
  • Equipment experience includes natural gas compression, refrigeration, and shallow cut processing.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of operations and established procedures.
  • Continual dedication to on-going training and development.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to live in camp and work a 7-day 12hr rotation, days and nights.

This position is considered 'Safety Sensitive' and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.
