Actuarial Consulting Expert for Retirement Plans

The Defined Benefits and Actuarial Services practice within Retirement Consulting comprises a dedicated team of nation-wide professionals with extensive experience in pension and actuarial consulting. We specialize in providing strategic guidance, expert analysis, and effective risk management to help clients achieve their pension plan goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor, fostering trust and loyalty.
- Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying new business opportunities with existing and new clients, positioning TELUS Health as a market leader.
- Strategic Consulting: Provide comprehensive consulting services, including designing and managing retirement plans, assessing plan funding and risk, developing asset-liability management strategies, conducting ALM studies, and implementing risk management frameworks that align with client objectives and risk tolerance.
- Team Leadership: Lead team engagement by providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in pension plan consulting
- Professional actuarial designation such as FCIA, ASA, or FSA
- Strong client relationship management skills, up to C-suite level, based on a trusted advisor model
- Solid understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, and industry developments and emerging trends
- Experience in asset-liability modeling and risk strategy development
- Ability to identify new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and meet budget and profitability targets
- Proven leadership and mentorship skills, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of mathematical models and statistical analysis
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex actuarial concepts to clients and stakeholders
- Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in actuarial science and industry trends
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
