Project Planning Lead

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Project Planning Lead to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Contractor on behalf of the Company to ensure that all project activities are planned, scheduled, and executed in alignment with the Company's objectives and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create and update comprehensive project schedules, including tasks, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company's overall project timeline and objectives.
  • Collaborate with EPC Contractors: Work closely with EPC contractors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and identify the necessary resources for task completion.
  • Track Project Progress: Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the schedule, and update project plans to reflect any changes in scope, timeline, or resources.
  • Communicate Project Status: Prepare and present regular status reports to company and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate risk management plans to company and EPC contractors.
  • Facilitate Project Meetings: Organize and facilitate regular project meetings to ensure effective coordination among team members and EPC contractors.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the EPC contractor's resource management and compliance with project requirements, including conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure quality and adherence to contractual obligations, industry standards, and project requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 15+ years of project experience in major capital projects in the oil and gas industry, LNG project experience a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, PRISM, etc.), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames, and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
