At GHD, we're committed to making a positive impact on the future of transport. We're looking for a skilled Project Manager - Materials Technology to join our Ontario Operations within the Materials Technology Business Group.

GHD's Materials Technology group collaborates with local governments, contractors, Provincial/Federal agencies, and private industries on various transportation, residential, infrastructure, institutional, and industrial facility projects. Our team provides integrated geotechnical, construction materials, and environmental engineering services in support of designers, owners, and constructors.

As a project manager in this role, you'll be involved in solving complex transport challenges and contributing to groundbreaking projects from concept to delivery. You'll work closely with our globally connected specialists to ensure energy, water, and urbanization are made sustainable for generations to come.

This position offers a variety of tasks and opportunities for growth. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project management, field investigations/assessment, engineering analysis and reporting, supervision, and training of engineering and technical staff
  • Preparation and reviews of technical proposals and reports
  • Site investigations, construction/materials testing and inspections related to transportation, civil municipal, commercial, and residential development, resource industries, utilities, and building structures
  • Managing project schedules and budgets, while maintaining excellent client relations
  • Supporting business development and client maintenance through client sourcing, proposal preparation, and qualification packages
  • Providing recommendations to clients for materials testing results that do not comply with specifications
  • Expertise and support for geotechnical and construction materials aspects of projects throughout design, tendering, and construction stages, including aggregate, concrete, and asphalt materials sampling and testing
  • Answering contractor questions and site visits during construction as required
  • Maintaining contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
  • The . designation (Mandatory)
  • At least 15+ years' experience in the Materials Technology engineering field (Mandatory)
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary and project teams
