Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Liaison to join our team at the Alberta Retired Teachers' Association (ARTA). As a key member of our Member Services team, you will provide expert guidance and support to our members and their healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on managing pharmacy-related benefits, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, diabetes supplies, and intra-joint injectables.
  • Advise on complex transitions to the ARTARx plan and determine coverage eligibility.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to coordinate and review special authorization and conditional-lite (step therapy) prescription coverage requests.
  • Support the navigation of coordination of benefits with Government Seniors Benefit Plans on high-cost medications, diabetes supplies, and services.
  • Conduct review and analysis of high-cost drugs for inclusion on the ARTA Drug Benefit List.
  • Provide meaningful engagement with pharmacy customers to improve member health and support the achievement of customer health goals and business growth with superior clinical service.
Requirements
  • Registered pharmacy technician certification in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Previous pharmacy experience in community or hospital pharmacy, with experience in a central fill or mail-order pharmacy an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Computer proficiency in KROLL Pharmacy Management Solution is essential.
