We are a self-funded, not-for-profit organization with headquarters in west Toronto, employing approximately 450 staff across Ontario. Our team is invested in the communities we work in and collaborate effectively to drive results.

About the Role

This Senior Safety Specialist role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safe operation of fuels equipment in Ontario. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing technical drawings and calculations from submissions or site inspections.

You will work closely with clients to address outstanding information requirements or technical issues, collaborating with TSSA Inspectors and/or Investigators in safety incident investigations to determine compliance levels and conduct root cause analysis.

Your expertise will also contribute to identifying and ensuring compliance on fuel appliance recalls, actively participating in promoting public safety as a member of technical standard committees and through presentations at industry association meetings.

To excel in this role, you will need to continuously develop knowledge of device and system design, as well as applicable regulatory documentation.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or its equivalent, as defined by Prof. Eng., is required. Approximately 3-5 years of engineering experience with a regulator or in the fuels industry is necessary.

Propane experience, specifically with Mobile Food Trucks and Carts, is an asset. You should possess skills in analyzing structural, mechanical, and electric drawings, manuals, PLC programming languages, and logic diagrams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases is also required.
