Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead and manage all on-site construction activities for our client, a construction firm focused on institutional projects across the GTA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Project Scheduling: Monitor and maintain project schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet the highest standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage and coordinate all necessary resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Reporting: Regularly report project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Team Development: Mentor and train project teams to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Problem-Solving: Handle any unforeseen issues or challenges that arise during construction and find effective solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local building codes and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in institutional construction, with a focus on new build projects.
  • Preference: Strong preference given to candidates with previous experience in school development projects.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Certifications: Proficiency in construction management software and tools, relevant certifications and licenses.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
