ZSA Legal Recruitment is seeking a Director of Legal Affairs to join its team. The ideal candidate will be bilingual and a member of the Quebec Bar. The Director of Legal Affairs will assist and work closely with business leaders in the strategic positioning of various projects and in assessing the associated legal risks. The role will involve merger and acquisition transactions, tender processes, project financing, setting up large-scale partnerships with municipalities, aboriginal nations, and other relevant parties, as well as negotiating construction contracts and the purchase of wind turbines and other major equipment. The Director of Legal Affairs will be based in downtown Montreal offices and report to the Vice President, Legal Affairs for North America. The company, Boralex, is a major player in renewable energy, specializing in four sectors: wind, solar, hydroelectricity, and storage. Founded over 30 years ago, Boralex develops, builds, and operates renewable energy production sites in Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. With the future of the planet at heart, Boralex is actively participating in the fight against global warming, one project at a time. The Director of Legal Affairs will be involved in various projects and will work closely with the business leaders to ensure the success of these projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors, which will be considered an asset. The Director of Legal Affairs will be responsible for negotiating contracts, assessing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role will require strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Legal Affairs will be a key member of the team and will play a critical role in the success of Boralex.
