About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Specialist to champion a safety-first culture within our organization. As an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring, coaching, and training employees on safety prioritization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive safety manuals and policies that align with industry best practices.
  • Design and implement engaging safety campaigns to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Investigate incidents and lead safety meetings to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) and Advanced Occupational First Aid (OFA) certifications.
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver's license.
  • Certified (or working towards) a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Knowledge of return-to-work programs and experience implementing Health and Safety systems and programs.
  • Hands-on experience leading changes, conducting safety audits, analyzing WorkSafe claims, and performing Hazards and Risk assessments.
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $60,000 and $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
