About Our Opportunity

The Policy Analyst (Research and Statistical Officer 3) will contribute to the development and implementation of equity and anti-racism initiatives in Nova Scotia, including those related to the Dismantling Racism and Hate Act, the Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform policy development and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement policy instruments, standards, and consultation strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide project management and support to designated projects and initiatives, fostering effective working relationships across government.
  • Prepare and coordinate high-quality briefing materials and briefing binders for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as project management, policy, or research methods.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equity and anti-racism concepts.
  • Thorough knowledge of the public policy development process and experience in policy analysis.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in report writing, briefing material preparation, and building collaborative working relationships.
