Job Title: Commercial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing commercial-related legal advice and guidance to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice on contractual compliance, contract drafting and interpretation, and employment matters
  • Draft, negotiate and manage procurement and MSA's
  • Manage sub-contractor relationships and claims
  • Assess and mitigate risk in accordance with our risk profile
  • Develop policies and procedures, adhering to compliance guidelines
  • Draft commercial correspondence on behalf of Senior Leadership
  • Participate in weekly meetings with our internal Legal Team
  • Communicate with external Legal counsel on key issues
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in related legislation
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience practicing law in a large private practice firm and/or as an in-house counsel
  • LLB or JD and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Experience with contract preparation and negotiation
  • Experience with employment and sub-contractor contracts
  • Previous work experience in a commercial environment is an asset
  • Experience in a P3 environment is an asset
  • Ability to think strategically and use good judgement to provide efficient legal advice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
