Hopper Fintech Ancillaries team is a team responsible for integrating our proprietary fintech offerings with some of the largest travel companies in the world.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our growing fintech team. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be directly responsible for designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems that power our integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems using Scala and GCP technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on features and deliver high-quality software.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance, distributed systems that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Frontend Engineers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
  • Contribute to the development of our fintech products, including Price Freeze, Flexibility for Any Reason, and Flight Disruption Assistance.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and architectural decisions that affect performance and maintainability.
  • Experience with Scala and GCP technologies, including OpenAPI and BigQuery.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and iterate on features quickly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate focus on quality, with a strong understanding of test-driven development and continuous integration.
