Job Summary:

The Risk Management Specialist – Health & Safety Lead will collaborate with stakeholders to achieve operational excellence in health and safety at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd. This role requires a change agent who can ensure site compliance with the organization's health and safety program and assist with transformational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance and continuous improvement of the manufacturing program, focusing on future growth within the organization.
  • Participate in the development of strategic H&S objectives in alignment with the organization's program and standardized safety management system(s).
  • Assess organizational risk and manage the issuance and training of policies, procedures, and control measures to address and mitigate risks at the facility level.
  • Lead site and facility incident investigations to prevent recurrence and improve programs.
  • Support internal and external facility audits to ensure compliance with applicable Acts, Regulations, policies, and recognized industry standards.
  • Develop H&S performance reports and key performance indicators to identify and share improvement opportunities with senior leadership.
  • In coordination with the site, administer the disability management program and oversee return to work and modified duty programs.
  • Evaluate employee responsibilities for H&S awareness and coach accordingly.
  • Manage the on-site ergonomics program, including physical demands analysis, functional capability assessments, and workstation improvements.
  • Maintain existing third-party safety certifications, such as Certificate of Recognition.
  • Provide oversight and budgeting for site and facility health and safety expenditures.
  • Deliver safety meetings and training opportunities to employees and management.

Requirements:

  • OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY degree, diploma, or equivalent certificates
  • Related Professional Certification (e.g., CRSP, CSP, ROH, CIH)
  • 5+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience, including 5+ years at a program management level
  • Aircraft Manufacturing or Industrial Manufacturing experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with Emergency Response Plans and formal investigations
  • Mature understanding of auditing processes and leading H&S operational excellence programs

Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
