About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Glass Installation Specialist to join our team at Metro Hardware and Maintenance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing glass products, ensuring high-quality results and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Prepare Work Sites
    • Determine the type of glass, frames, and materials required for each project
    • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand work requirements
  • Measure, Cut, and Install Glass
    • Measure and mark glass for cutting
    • Cut glass to precise specifications
    • Position and secure panes in frames
  • Assemble and Install Glass Products
    • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products
    • Install door, window, and other hardware
  • Repair and Maintain Glass Structures
    • Repair glass doors and other glass structures
    • Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment
  • Work at Heights and in Confined Spaces
    • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
    • Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes, and other lifting equipment
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
      • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
    • Physical Demands
      • Physically demanding work environment
      • Handling heavy loads
      • Standing for extended periods
      • Bending, crouching, kneeling
    • Work Schedule
      • 30 to 40 hours per week
      • Permanent employment
    • Language and Communication
      • Fluent in English
