About the Role:

You will be responsible for providing system-level post-sales support to customers, including testing, troubleshooting, and remote technical assistance.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills with SONET/SDH equipment, Carrier Ethernet devices, and fiber optic facilities.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this position.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) with technical support experience in the Telco industry.
  • Basic knowledge of fiber optic transport and switching equipment operation.
  • The ability to travel globally for customer site visits and Ciena locations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Assets:

  • Working knowledge in data communications, UNIX, SUN/Oracle, and IP networks.
  • Basic knowledge of OTN and related technology.
  • CE-A and OC-A certifications.
  • Experience with various types of test equipment for optical and protocol testing.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year
