Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor Role



Job Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this Warehouse Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating warehouse functions and activities for their assigned shift. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols, managing team members, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities




  • Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Audit the warehouse to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Manage team performance, providing coaching and counseling as needed, and maintaining accurate records in Dayforce.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for each shift, identifying vacancies and collaborating with the Warehouse Manager to address staffing needs.
  • Provide support for Team Leads, including accident investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of team member work hours, vacation, and absence.
  • Identify training opportunities and manage the training plan, keeping the Training Matrix up to date.
  • Ensure cross-training and backup support are adequate and manage the vacation schedule.
  • Implement the Performance Improvement program, addressing issues, providing timely feedback, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Monitor shift performance targets, understanding how they contribute to meeting PC&L and Toronto Operations objectives.
  • Lead weekly Communication Meetings and collect necessary data for daily shift reports.
  • Responsible for smooth shift transitions and providing feedback to previous shifts on any issues that may impact future performance.
  • Support and drive Continuous Improvement, identifying opportunities and participating in establishing performance metrics and the CI program.


Requirements


  • Post-secondary education in Business or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience in a fast-paced, high-volume lean manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Forklift and Reach truck licenses preferred.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Excel.
  • Proven track record of supervising and working with people, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others, with a bias for action and a strong work ethic.
  • Good understanding of lean concepts and MRP systems.
