- Certification and Licensure: Maintain certification with the College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Educational Background: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in family medicine.
