Fraser Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist at Burnaby Hospital.

About the Role:
We are committed to providing exceptional care to patients and their families. As a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care, focusing on symptom management, pain control, and emotional support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients in the Palliative Complex Care Unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including interdisciplinary consultations and communication.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights, promoting autonomy, dignity, and respect.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research activities that advance palliative care practices.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing and current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year recent acute medical/surgical nursing or acute palliative care experience, plus completion of a certificate in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the scope of practice of other health care disciplines and knowledge in the field of palliative care.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and work independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.
