Job Summary

Rising Edge Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, upgrading, and installation of electrical equipment in 13.8kV to 500 kV substations.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
  • Plan layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on specifications.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify defects and ensure compliance with codes.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and training to Electrical Apprentices.
  • Responsible for inspection and testing of high-voltage electrical equipment installed in a substation.
  • Lead installation and facilitate planning of ground grids, assembly of power system equipment, cabling, and wiring.
  • Perform and facilitate substation equipment maintenance according to company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Valid and recognized Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a PSE/Electrician with at least 2 years of experience working in substations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules as they relate to the Electrician role.
  • Valid Provincial Class 5 driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, and computer-based test equipment would be an asset.
  • Must meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
  • Must be able to work comfortably at heights.
  • Able to travel, including traveling to remote sites.
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
