About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Support III to join our team at the Canmore General Hospital. As a key member of the Registration Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring immediate access to patient information to facilitate healthcare treatment decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients and/or their family members in person or by telephone to positively identify patients and obtain their demographic and financial information
  • Verify, validate, and enter patient information into Connect Care accurately in accordance with the Provincial Registration Standards and Practices (PRSP)
  • Apply Positive Patient Identification during the registration process to ensure accurate record linkage, support safe delivery of patient care, and reduce identity theft
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and the general public
  • Collect hospital fees for uninsured, out-of-country services, LTC accommodation fees/trust accounts, and patient chargeables
  • Point of Sale (POS) collection and cash handling
  • Answer telephones/switchboard and assist with wayfinding
  • Train and mentor new clerks and students as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, and/or post-secondary education applicable to the position
  • Computer experience including: Connect Care, Quanum, Netcare, Person Directory, Client Registry, MS Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams)
  • Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm and medical terminology knowledge
  • One year Admitting/Registration experience in an Acute Care Facility within the last two years
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in both writing and verbally in English

Compensation: $64,355 - $82,894 per annum, commensurate with experience.
