Job Title: Senior Yard Maintenance Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Yard Maintenance Manager to join our team at SB GARDENING & LANDSCAPING SERVICES.


Key Responsibilities
  • Direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns: Supervise and oversee the installation of various landscaping features, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and appearance.
  • Hire, supervise and schedule staff: Lead a team of yard maintenance professionals, providing guidance and training to ensure they have the skills needed to excel in their roles.
  • Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns: Plan and coordinate the installation of new landscaping projects, taking into account factors such as soil type, climate, and drainage.
  • Plan and estimate labour and materials: Develop comprehensive plans and budgets for upcoming projects, considering factors such as material costs, labor requirements, and timelines.
  • Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls: Oversee the construction of outdoor structures, working closely with contractors and vendors to ensure they meet our specifications and deadlines.
  • Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work: Coordinate all aspects of landscape construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Maintain work records and logs: Accurately document all work performed, including project details, timelines, and personnel involved.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality: Troubleshoot issues that arise during projects, offering expert guidance and recommendations to resolve problems and improve performance.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures: Develop and implement efficient workflows and schedules, ensuring our team is productive and effective in completing tasks.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Work Environment

This is an on-the-road job, requiring regular travel to different work sites.
