Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry and handyman works, including drywall and framing, in a residential multi-family setting.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Conduct interior carpentry tasks, such as building stairs, decks, balconies, and other items.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Estimate material costs and maintain inventory to ensure efficient project management.
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Remove and install flooring, including laminate, lino, and carpet, with minimal disruption to residents.
  • Remove old furnishings and prepare areas for renovations, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and renovations, including replacing toilets, taps, and pipes.
  • Conduct minor electrical updates, such as replacing switches, light fixtures, and sockets, with safety in mind.
  • Patch drywall, paint walls and trim, and perform other tasks as assigned to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Deliver, load, and unload materials and supplies, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Remove debris and maintain a trash-free environment, adhering to company standards.
  • Be available on-call to address problems that arise after hours and/or weekends, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with regional and facilities managers to complete maintenance work as assigned.

    Requirements

    • At least 2 years of relevant building renovation work experience.
    • Working knowledge of renovation and repair of buildings, building systems, respective by-laws, and/or regulations.
    • Possess own tools and a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle for work use.
    • Successfully complete a security clearance.
