Salary and BenefitsYou can expect a competitive salary, with paid training at $22.33/hour increasing to $25.34/hour after successful completion of training and full certification. We also offer comprehensive benefits and a great uniform.
Job Description- Efficiently screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
- Confirm valid boarding passes
- Scan and test baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology, along with physical search techniques
- Protect restricted areas
- Communicate clearly and effectively
- Uphold all regulations with vigilance
- Manage conflict
- Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
- Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
- Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Candidates must be local to Castlegar, or the surrounding area
- Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident
The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $45,000 - $50,000 based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks of employment. This amount may vary depending on individual circumstances and does not include additional forms of compensation.
Clearance RequirementsSelected candidates will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which involves an extensive background check. Upon clearance, you will begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully completed prior to starting work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer.
