About the Role

Saplings Outdoor Program is seeking a dedicated and passionate Forest School Educator to join our team. As a Forest School Educator, you will be responsible for implementing a dynamic forest program, ensuring the safety of children, and preparing learning areas and materials.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive forest program that aligns with our educational philosophy.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children during outdoor activities, including forest play, hiking, and climbing.
  • Prepare and maintain learning areas and materials, including natural materials and locally sourced items.
  • Assume responsibility for program tools and equipment, including safety, use, and maintenance.
  • Plan and prepare seasonal activities and projects that promote learning and exploration.
  • Implement mentorship strategies that foster compassion, respect, and individualized support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Be physically capable of performing teaching duties in various weather conditions and terrain.
Qualifications
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Criminal Record Check.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in outdoor education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
