Job Title: K-7 Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and experienced K-7 teacher to join our team at the Lower Nicola Indian Band School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Kindergarten to Grade 7 students and will be a key member of our educational team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Kindergarten to Grade 7 students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Category 5 Teaching Degree
  • Training Certification - BC College of Teachers
  • Training and experience with primary students
  • Experience with First Nations children an asset
  • Experience with behaviourally challenged students
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEP's
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of BC curriculum, effective instructional methodologies and a holistic approach to meeting the learning needs of students
  • Will to continue to gain new knowledge and skills, be flexible, positive and a team player
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Ability and willingness to submit to a criminal record check is mandatory
