Health Strategist

As a Health Strategist at WTW, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a diverse array of projects related to the design, funding, measurement, and financial analysis of comprehensive employer health and benefit programs. Your responsibilities will include contributing to client benefits strategies through the management of the entire carrier procurement and negotiation process.
You will serve as the lead project manager on select projects, collaborating with client service teams and global delivery centers to deliver high-quality analyses and client deliverables. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your health and benefits business acumen, as well as your financial, project management, negotiation, and communication skills, through involvement in cutting-edge projects alongside industry leaders.
The Role
- Support multiple client teams in developing financial analyses, outputs, and client deliverables across a regional team, as well as project management.
- Develop working proficiency in core financial, actuarial, and analytics theories, models, and tools.
- Assist in accurate and reliable claim reporting and financial modeling to inform client decisions.
- Deepen knowledge of broad-based benefit programs, including healthcare, pharmacy, wellbeing, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Develop and assist with financial modeling of benefit plan designs, cost avoidance/funding strategies, and budget projections and rate/contribution development.
- Take ownership of executing specific tasks that contribute to financial, analytical, and placement deliverables for clients, with guidance and adherence to stated deadlines.
- Manage follow-up questions and requests from carriers/vendors.
- Collect, summarize, and analyze proposal findings; support negotiations, make recommendations for finalist carriers, and communicate with carriers.
- Design and manage placement (renewal/marketing) deliverables with a strict adherence to stated deadlines.
- Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes.
- Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams to deliver superior project management.
- Review analytical work, mentor, and develop junior colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with internal excellence and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the development of new intellectual capital.
