Job Summary


The Facilities Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations. This role requires a hands-on tradesperson with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.


Key Responsibilities



  • Maintenance and repair of physical assets, including equipment and fixtures
  • Project management and coordination of renovation projects
  • Logistics and coordination of moves and storage
  • Review and authorization of invoices within approved limits
  • Submission of reports and documents on time and in a legible manner
  • Coordination of FM renovation projects, including timeline management and meeting deadlines
  • Providing professional service to internal employees and sub-tenants
  • Assisting customers in resolving facilities issues and problems
  • Return of messages to internal or external customers, landlords, property managers, and contacts in a timely manner
  • On-call rotation to support after-hours emergencies
  • Prioritization of routine service requests to meet customer requirements
  • Liaising with office and branch staff to ensure work is completed satisfactorily
  • Correcting defects or deficiencies in physical assets
  • Sourcing and negotiating goods and services required to complete service requests
  • Performing preventative maintenance, monitoring, and inspections of CCS physical premises and assets
  • Completing day-to-day maintenance and repair functions
  • Planning and scheduling FM branch and office space renovations
  • Coordinating and overseeing the services of contractors and tradespeople
  • Ensuring all workplace hazards and hazardous materials policies and regulations are adhered to
  • Ensuring staff, customer, and public safety at all times

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A minimum 4 years of experience in FM or trades
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills for resolving maintenance and repair-related issues
  • Patience and tact, maintaining a professional manner at all times
  • The ability to deal cooperatively and communicate effectively with people in various circumstances
  • Broad construction or Facilities maintenance-related work experience
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills for resolving maintenance and repair-related issues
  • Must demonstrate patience and tact, maintaining a professional manner at all times
  • Must have the ability to deal cooperatively and communicate effectively with people in a wide variety of circumstances
  • Collaboration: Is seen as a team player and is cooperative; establishes candid, transparent, and productive relationships designed to solve problems, complete tasks/projects, and “get things done” efficiently and effectively.
  • Planning/Organizing: Sets objectives/goals; accurately scopes out length/difficulty of tasks/projects; breaks down work into process steps; develops schedules and task assignments; identifies interdependencies.
