About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our client's team in Hamilton. As an expert in quality control testing, you will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, providing technical leadership, and supporting production and QA teams.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Control Testing: Plan, implement, and complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely fashion while ensuring consistent high quality.
  • Analytical Method Development: Conduct method development, transfer, and validation activities, including defining comprehensive validation procedures and performing routine and complex validation activities independently.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical support to AD, Production, and QA teams, act as point of contact for other departments, and prepare presentations for client review.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train colleagues and new staff in department-related disciplines, perform routine quality operations, and maintain documentation to fulfill regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and work under Health Canada and FDA GMP requirements for sterile pharmaceuticals, adhere to GMP regulations, and maintain up-to-date training records.

Requirements

  • Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, or Biotechnology.
  • Experience: 8+ years' hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical GMP environment, with expertise in developing new analytical methods and validation.
  • Skills: Proficiency in HPLC, GC, TLC, UV/VIS, MS, NMR, protein characterization, chemical analysis, and microbiological testing.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and a dynamic work environment.
