Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Forensic Engineer to join our team at Robert G. McEwen & Associates Limited. As a key member of our forensic investigation services, you will be responsible for conducting electrical and fire-related investigations, projects, and tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in electrical and fire-related investigations, projects, and tasks, including the development and implementation of technical reviews and field investigations.
  • Investigate electrical distribution, electrical transformers, photovoltaic installations, small motor and appliance failures, and fires.
  • Perform site examinations in relation to loss or failure and test the operation of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Effectively communicate investigation and analysis findings to clients and others.
  • Review plans and specifications with respect to relevant guidelines, codes, and other regulations.
  • Assist in developing and preparing engineer drawings and simulations from field measurements, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
  • Manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • A current license to practice engineering in Ontario.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of power systems, with fire investigation and CCFI or CFEI certification (CVFI certification is a bonus).
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Code.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • The ability to discuss project budgets with clients and maintain continuous communications throughout the course of the project.
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully completed projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Extremely well-organized with good interpersonal skills.
