Health and Safety Expert

The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing safety programs and health & safety analytics. They will conduct gap analysis and audits of health and safety programming, prepare reports and work plans prioritized based on risk, and identify risks and trends in root cause and recommend controls.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in an industrial health and safety role, a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health & Safety, and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CSSE / CHSC) certification. They will also have extensive knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation, associated regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and other applicable statutes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing safety programs and health & safety analytics
- Conducting gap analysis and audits of health and safety programming
- Preparing reports and work plans prioritized based on risk
- Identifying risks and trends in root cause and recommending controls
- Providing 24/7 support to emergencies and acting as a member of the ICS team
- Conducting and coordinating H&S related training
