Job Title: Medical Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for assisting laboratory staff with various tasks, including collecting blood and tissue samples, setting up laboratory equipment, and processing incoming requisitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other samples from patients
  • Set up medical laboratory equipment
  • Clean and maintain medical laboratory and laboratory equipment
  • Process incoming requisitions
  • Assist laboratory staff with various tasks
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook, MEDITECH
  • Technical terminology: Medical
  • Technical experience: Registration
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity
