Job Title: Mine Technician Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Technician Associate to join our team at SSR Mining. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our mine operations, ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of minerals.

About the Role:

  • Provide underground and surface surveying services, including daily markups, bonus pickups, and month-end surveys.
  • Maintain and update production and development databases, mine development drawings, and mine level plans.
  • Assist the engineering team with stope reconciliation surveys and data analysis.
  • Support project planning for operations and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with geology and engineering departments on mineral lease documentation.
  • Conduct field-level geotechnical QA/QC testing and instrumentation installation and monitoring under the guidance of the Mine Engineer.
  • Assist the mine planning team with short-term planning duties, focusing on longhole design.
  • Engage with the Technical Services team to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Adhere to programs, systems, and procedures in mine survey and design.
  • Update technical services policies, procedures, and systems as required.
  • Develop a strong safety culture through engagement and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with technical and operations teams on capital equipment appropriation documentation.
  • Align with the Company's SHEMS system as it applies to the Technical Services Department.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma of Technology in Mine Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum five years' experience in underground mine surveying.
  • Member of SASTT (or similar provincial governing body) with an (A.Sc.T.) or (C.Tech) with an appropriate amount of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Deswik, Leica Captivate, AutoCad, Mine Markup/MineCAD, Carlson Boretrak, and Teledyne Optech.

Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp, with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
