Financial Leadership Opportunity at Groupe Desgagnés

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our team as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. This strategic role will play a crucial part in shaping the financial future of our organization.

About the Position:
  • The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of our financial operations, including financial planning, budget management, and internal control procedures.
  • They will lead a talented team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • This is a permanent, daytime position with a flexible schedule of 37.5 hours, divided from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with management, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Overssee the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable and receivable, management accounting, and monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial transactions and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses, including variance analyses and performance indicators, to support management decisions.
  • Manage cash flow and ensure availability of funds necessary for operations, participate in currency management and credit risk assessment for clients.
  • Lead the accounting, finance, and payroll teams, set annual objectives and performance criteria for team members, and participate in recruiting and training.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of Tessier Limited and Boréal Cranes Inc. by integrating financial dimensions, including ROI, working capital management, and the assessment of acquisition and development opportunities.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a finance and administration leadership role within medium to large organizations.
  • CPA designation or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, budget management, and experience with integrated management software.
  • Proficiency in French and English (both written and spoken).
  • Problem-solving skills, rigor, and ability to work well under pressure.
