Claims Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Assistant to join our team in our Toronto office. The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers, underwriters, and adjusters to ensure seamless claims processing.
Key Responsibilities- Set up new claims, determining the appropriate policy and preparing the notice of loss, and reporting the claim within one hour of receipt.
- Generate reports of claim histories for producers and the marketing team as needed.
- Correspond with insured parties regarding the status of their claim.
- Maintain relevant information accurately via EPIC/LEO document filing software.
- Write letters to insured parties and send checks.
- Request or process various payments.
- Transmit all required claims information to appropriate individuals.
- 0-2 years of experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and meticulousness.
