What is the opportunity?
Are you a seasoned security professional seeking a challenging role that brings global impact? As an Executive Director of Global Security, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of RBC's employees worldwide. Additionally, you will be responsible for the operational aspects of RBC's Executive Protection program, providing security planning expertise and guidance for events across the enterprise.
In this role, your knowledge of threat risk assessments, security planning, executive protection, and operational implementation will contribute to the continuity of RBC's operations.
What will you do?
- Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for executive trips and events, ensuring the safety of designated employees and assets.
- Provide primary response to security incidents involving designated employees or events, utilizing your expertise to mitigate risks and ensure a swift resolution.
- Conduct regular reviews, assessments, and planning to identify potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage emergency situations, including security threats, natural disasters, medical emergencies, and travel logistics, ensuring the safety of employees and assets.
- Collaborate with vendors to provide front-line management and ensure the delivery of high-quality security services.
- Lead security-related projects, utilizing your expertise to drive results and improve security outcomes.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Proven years of experience in physical security, with a strong understanding of threat risk assessments, security planning, and security operations.
- Excellent diplomatic skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management, displaying a high level of security professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to recognize actual or potential security breaches and respond to all incidents that may impact personnel or site security and/or safety of Executives or Employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across various lines of business.
- Solid understanding of risk mitigation strategies and the ability to develop and implement effective security plans.
- Strong and proven ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment.
Nice-to-have
- Post-secondary education from a recognized college or university, preferably in the areas of International Relations, Security/Strategic/Intelligence Studies, or Political Science.
- CPP 'Certified Protection Professional' designation from ASIS International.
